About Eric Anderson Information about photographer Eric Anderson and Anderson Images

Eric R. Anderson is a professional nature photographer who, along with his wife Jennifer, call Anchorage, AK their home. Being fond of all the outdoors led Eric to obtain a bachelors degree from Western Michigan University in biology, zoology, and chemistry. Eric went on to earn a masters degree in fisheries management from the University of Michigan. Having worked as a fisheries biologist for the state of Michigan, Minnesota, and Alaska, he has been able to spend countless hours out of doors in remote locations. Also an avid birder and fly fisherman, Eric's knowledge of the natural world is apparent in all of his photographs.

Wildlife photography can be extremely challenging and rewarding. Eric works very hard to capture images under special lighting situations, never relying on electronic flash or digital alterations. His cameras have always been Nikon, recently adding a Fuji panoramic camera to his equipment.

Apparent in Eric's award-winning nature photography are images of animals captured in their natural habitat. Eric will not photograph animals in "game farm" situations or rehabilitation centers and is saddened by its practice. There is a great sense of challenge and reward in photographing "free-roaming" animals in the wild.
